10 year Guarantee - Terms and conditions
Tithe Barn Shepherd Huts LLP guarantees the chassis, cast iron wheels and external structure of their huts against failure for a period of 10 years from the date or purchase, subject to the conditions detailed below.
Guarantee against water ingress.
All Shepherd Huts made and sold by Tithe Barn shepherd Huts LLP are also covered against water ingress damage for 5 years from the original date of purchase of a new hut, subject to the conditions detailed below. This applies to water ingress through any permanently sealed joints.
In order to comply with the terms of the above cover the following conditions must be met:
- Customers must retain the original sales invoice for their Shepherd Hut, and inform Tithe Barn Shepherd Huts of any name or address changes.
- Customers agree to annually inspect external paintwork, fixings, window, door and chimney sealants and repair and renew as necessary. For reference, customers will receive the specification of paint used on their Shepherd Hut, with their Warranty Document.
- No liability will be accepted for damage caused by fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence or abnormal working conditions.
- No alterations or modifications may be made that affect the original construction.
In the unlikely event that customers experience a problem with their Shepherd Hut they should contact Tithe Barn Shepherd Huts immediately. It is with Tithe Barn Shepherd Huts that the contract of sale exists and consequently we have the responsibility to ensure any complaints and warranty issues are addressed.
Exclusions:
Warranty cover is not given for Shepherd Huts if they have been used under any of the following circumstances:
- Used for hire.
- Used as a permanent residence.
- Used for business purposes.
- Towed on sealed roads.
- Warranty Cover is not given for damage resulting from freezing, accident, fire or accidental damage.
- Warranty Cover for our Shepherd Huts does not automatically transfer with a change of ownership – but see below.
In the event of a Tithe Barn Shepherd Hut being purchased from a third party as a used product it may be possible to transfer the unexpired term of the warranty cover. Please contact Tithe Barn Shepherd Huts.
This warranty does not affect the purchaser’s statutory rights. The warranty shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and the parties irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England. Tithe Barn Shepherd Huts suggest that any Shepherd Hut purchased is included as a specific item in the customer’s household insurance, to provide cover for any accidental damage, as well as other unfortunate eventualities such as theft.
Door & Window Furniture.
The majority of the door and window furniture used by Tithe Barn Shepherd Huts is from the Carlslisle Design Group who generally provide a 10 year guarantee on the mechanical elements of their products and 5 years for the finish. This can be affected by differing weather and climate conditions and a common sense approach to regular care and maintenance is assumed.
We do not recommend black antique fittings for external applications.
Malleable wrought iron is by its very nature susceptible to rusting and should be cared for accordingly, it will require a regular maintenance routine which should include a light application of oil and an occasional application of clear wax. For this reason Tithe Barn Shepherd Huts are unable to give any guarantee for failure of these products.
