Technical specification:
Standard size: 2’0” wide x 2’6” high, with opening casement
About our small windows:
Our shepherd hut windows are made using the finest Craftsmanship, from a choice of hardwoods. They are supplied part assembled and unpainted, with external cill, storm hinges, one full size double glazed unit, beading and stick-on window bars as standard. They also come with flexistrip to “seat” the double glazed unit, brown weatherseal and permanent double-sided adhesive foam tape for bonding window bars to the inside and outside of the glass, thus giving the effect of 4 separate window panes.
Please note that we leave the protective “horns” on all frames (both doors and windows) to protect frames during transportation. Please remove these before painting or installation.
Useful info
Our windows are supplied part assembled – the advantage being that customers can fully seal, paint or stain exposed timber work to their chosen finish, to achieve maximum durability. We also recommend using Hodgson’s Silfix U9 for back-sealing the glass unit, before fixing the beading.
It may be useful to note that we now also supply Window Surrounds for a neat, easy to fit, weatherproof frame when fitting windows in corrugated walling.
Please also note that, internal window boards / cills are not included and apart from storm hinges, we do not supply hardware as standard with our self-build windows. Customers may be interested to know however that we tend to use hardware from the Ludlow Foundry and Carlisle Brass ranges for our bespoke built huts.
